Super Perro: DogMates
Costa Rica was facing a silent crisis: thousands of abandoned dogs and shelters stretched far beyond their capacity to manage adoptions efficiently.
Super Perro decided to transform the process by creating DogMates — the country's first digital dog-adoption platform, inspired by the simple, emotional logic of finding a partner online — to connect people with their "canine soulmate."

Make adoption more efficient inside an overwhelmed system.
Costa Rica had roughly 2 million abandoned dogs and shelters operating with limited resources. The adoption process was slow, manual and hard to scale — dramatically reducing the odds of finding a home for each dog.
The challenge was to build a tool that could simplify, speed up and scale adoptions nationwide.

Adoption turned into a national digital movement.
DogMates became Costa Rica's largest virtual shelter, letting shelters and independent rescuers list dogs in a single, simple place.
The platform received more than 1,330 dogs, hit a 76% adoption rate, generated more than 565,000 social interactions and earned over US$400K in earned media.
DogMates didn't just help dogs get adopted — it turned adoption into an accessible, mass-scale, emotional experience.
